Good morning Year Two and let me start today off with a super picture of the peas Isla has grown. Well done Isla! She must have looked after her pea plant very carefully. Something else we must look after is our environment. We don’t want rubbish to spoil it, so we must think of ways to recycle as much rubbish as we can. Andrew wrote a letter to the refuse collectors to thank them for all their hard work. He also made a model by recycling household items.
Another person who has been recycling items to use for art is Fleur and her brothers. They made a wonderful picture of a whale and fishes using amongst other things the tops from milk bottles.
Artists have also used recycled objects to make wonderful pieces of art. This one below was an exhibit at the Tate Modern in London a little while ago.
Just near to the gallery there was also a unique way to recycle ♻️ plastic cups.
I have been recycling old duvet covers, old sheets and curtains, along with lots of other sewers to make scrubs for key workers. I was delighted to hear from Andrew’s mum that she has actually seen them put to good use. Some of the fabric I’m sure must make people smile.
I hope your Learning Projects are going well this week. I heard from Matthew and he certainly has a big smile on his face. That is because he has had great success with his arithmetic and spelling work. Well done Matthew!
It makes me so happy to hear all about all the wonderful learning that is going on in your homes. I hope that you continue to have a successful week.
With love to you all,
from Mrs Phillips
