Welcome to your very last Year 1 Blog! The holidays are nearly here! Then you will be in Year 2!
I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching you this year and will miss you all terribly but I know you will have a great time with Mrs Phillips next year, and of course you will still have Mrs McAloon who gets to move up to Year 2 with you!
This week’s Learning Project is called All Around the World.
There are some great activities like the alphabet A-Z of countries. Can you think of all 26?
It gets me thinking of holidays and the places I have been and would still like to visit. Maybe you have been to some interesting places or would like to find out about other countries you would like to visit one day.
When we visit places, whether near or far, we often bring a souvenir home with us to remind us of the lovely time we have had there. The word souvenir means ‘to remember’ in french and this is what we do when we look at our souvenirs, we remember our holiday and the good times. Here is my Mende Mask which I brought home from my visit to Sierra Leone in Africa.
We have one more Teams Show and Tell this week when Mrs Phillips will get to see you all and hear all your news so remember to have something ready! Maybe you have a souvenir from your last holiday you would like to share with your friends and Mrs Phillips? I look forward to seeing you all then and wish you all a lovely summer holiday.
