Hello Year Three,
I must start by apologising for my post being so late today, I have been having some technical issues with my wifi at home. Luckily a helpful man on the phone has got it sorted for me.
Every year on the third Friday in May, Americans celebrate National Pizza Day. People enjoy getting together to enjoy pizza parties. Sadly at the moment, we cannot do this but you can still enjoy a pizza with your own family or even try making your own!
The first people to make something similar to a pizza were the Greeks, who started by covering bread with herbs, oil and cheese. Another version was enjoyed by the Romans, who covered a dough sheet with honey and cheese then seasoned it with bay leaves.
Pizza first started looking the way it does today when people from Naples in Italy created a pizza style flatbread, made with mozzarella cheese from buffalo. Over time new ingredients were added and it spread across the globe.
The UK’s favourite topping is pepperoni closely followed by meat feast and then ham and pineapple.
Guess what I’m having for tea?
If you want would like to make one for yourself I have attached a video tutorial below. If you are able to make one, please share your creations on Twitter so I can see them.
Stay home and stay safe.
