This week to in R.E. we have been writing our Lenten Promises to put on our Lenten branches. We are either giving up eating something we like or we are helping others more during Lent.
On Monday we started British Science Week off by following instructions and making a paper aeroplane. Next we went outside and had a competition to see which paper aeroplane could fly the furthest distance. Lily’s aeroplane won!
After that we went on a nature walk along the railway line. We were looking for different plants and animals. We used our nature diary to record what what we saw, we then used that information to write sentences about our nature walk. We also carried a journey stick, each time we did something or saw something, we added a different coloured band to our journey stick. These coloured bands helped to remind us and also helped us to organise our writing about the nature walk. On Thursday we wrote a story about the journey that our character Mr Cresshead had made, our cress seeds had grown into wonderful hair for our character. Finally at the end of British Science Week we designed a poster to show all of the things we had done during the week.
In maths we have been using lots of resources to help us learn about the place value of tens and ones in two digit numbers. We also used the laptops to drag monsters onto our ten frames to make two digit numbers from tens and ones.
In science we have been recording how our bean is growing. Our cress seeds have grown into wonderful hair for our character Mr Cresshead. Once we have written about our character we are going to take the cress home to eat.
