We have been reading a wonderful book about Bob who is the man on the moon. It links in beautifully to the space theme for Science Week, where we have learnt about craters on the moon. Year Two children know something that Bob doesn’t know, which is that there are aliens, hiding in the craters! We all thought that Bob would like a jam sandwich, so we made a jam sandwich in class then wrote down the instructions.
In Maths we have been looking at related facts between number bonds to ten and one hundred.
We have also been adding and subtracting, then using this skill to complete some reasoning and problem solving challenges.
We have been learning about another religion this week, which is Judaism. We have learnt about their Sabbath day which is called Shabbat and it starts on a Friday evening at sunset. We have also looked at a Challah bread cover, after we learnt how to make Challah bread.
I would like to end this blog by sharing the wonderful achievement of Lucy, for completing the Cancer Research Run of 5KM in 47 minutes. Last weekend Lucy ran through the wind, the rain and mud to finish this race. Well done Lucy!
Let’s hope the weather is a little kinder to us all this weekend.
