School Council

Welcome to our School Council

Our School Council consists of two children from Year 3 to Year 6 elected by the other children. They meet regularly to discuss a range of school issues.

Each year, the School Council organise fundraising events for Children in Need. Some other areas of school life they have been involved in are: leading an assembly on cyber bullying; energy efficiency; and introducing lots of opportunities to fund raise for our chosen charities!

This year our reading ambassadors are:

  • Leigh
  • Amelia

Last year, our reading ambassadors improved our school library. After they organised the library, they met with Mrs. Stephenson to discuss some of their plans for the coming year. They also produced a report about reading for pleasure within school. This year, Amelia and Leigh are going to work hard to highlight the love of reading that exists within school.

Anti-Bullying Week

For Anti-Bullying Week 2018, the School Council decided to invite everyone to wear odd socks for the day to represent our support for the theme, ‘All different, all equal!’ They held an informative assembly for the whole school to ensure important messages surrounding bullying were heard and understood by everyone.

Fun to Cook Sessions

Our School Council worked with Taylor Shaw for their Fun to Cook sessions; they learned about the importance of healthy eating and cooking with fresh ingredients. Following the lessons, they began our whole school Health Week by giving an assembly about the importance of healthy eating.

Energy Efficient

In previous years, the School Council has worked with Alice Evans from the County Council to look at how our school could become more energy efficient. They learned about different ways of saving energy and held an assembly to share their findings with the rest of the school.
