Youth Mission Team

All Saints Lanchester logoWe have a Youth Mission Team within school which consists of Year Six pupils.

Youth Mission Team for 2021 – 22

During 2019-2020, our Youth Mission Team performed their liturgical dance for the Parish on Youth Sunday – the Feast of Christ the King. They learned the dance with the other Youth Mission Teams from around our partnership. Lots of wonderful feedback was received – very well done to you all!

During the month of October, our Youth Mission Team led the school when saying one decade of the Rosary.

We visited The Event in April with other children from our Pontop Partnership. We had a wonderful time. As well as taking part in worship, we danced, socialised, played games and had pizza! We loved it and hope to return soon!

The Event – by Catherine Y5

Our YMT asked if a space could be set up in school for food to be donated at all times throughout the year (rather than specific collection times); the children, staff and parents thought this was a wonderful idea and an excellent way to serve others. All donations will be given to local food banks.

The YMT made prayer cards and prayer stones to give to residents in the local community; they travelled with the SVP during our Mission Week – ‘Unbroken.’

Each month, our Mission Team set up the prayer station in our school entrance. Please see some of our favourite prayer stations below:

October is the month of Mary.

Jesus is Risen!

During Lent, we always try hard to follow in Jesus’ footsteps.

We wrote our resolutions on our prayer tree in January.

During the month of December, our prayer station was linked to Advent.

We always make sure our prayer station in November is linked to Remembrance.
